Assistant Buyer
Location - Toronto, ON

Job Summary:

The purpose of this position is to assist the Buying Team with the day-to-day operations of the corporate office by working collaboratively with a team of professionals, supporting the formulations of purchasing, sales and marketing strategies and best practice processes in conjunction with departments to align with business strategies and customer requirements.

Essential Functions:

  • Purchase incoming merchandise as requested
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels in all warehouse locations
  • Assist buyer to maintain stable supply, take necessary actions to prevent stock out or expedite deliveries
  • Place, track, reschedule or cancel orders as requested
  • Issue stocking and special purchase orders as required and ensure correctness on orders for all branches
  • Assist in maintaining supplier price, delivery and quality expectations and escalate when appropriate
  • Help to manage the inventory by doing stock balances, transfers, ordering, etc. as requested
  • Collaborate with the warehouses and vendors to resolve shipping problems, overages, etc.
  • Interact with marketing to produce monthly flyers by giving product feedback, promos, pricing, etc. in absence of PM
  • Correspond with all departments and vendor partners as needed on the phone and via email
  • Interact with inside and outside sales by answering questions/ problems via phone and/or e-mail
  • Correspond with vendors via phone or e-mail
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Prioritize and multi-task in all aspects of your day
  • Must adhere to company policies, including attendance

Non-Essential Functions:

  • Attend meetings as needed
  • Assist in other company-wide initiatives as needed

Work Environment/Working Conditions:

  • This position is based in the corporate office.


  • Minimum Associate's degree in related field preferred or equivalent in experience required in purchasing of finished goods
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant and technical experience, in a professional office setting, or degree equivalent
  • Strong background in procurement, marketing, or sales
  • Strong analytical/data interpretation, problem solving, strategic influencing, and cross-functional leadership
  • A change agent who possesses a creative thought process to tackle old and emerging issues with a fresh, new approach
  • Strategic approach to solving business issues or uncovering opportunities
  • Evaluates business situations and proposes well thought-out solutions
  • Relevant professional qualifications a significant advantage
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, proven ability to effectively and credibly manage relationship with technical and non-technical personnel at multiple organization levels

Job Summary:

In the Supervisor role, you will be responsible for all aspects of production for your assigned department. The Supervisor will foster a well-trained and motivated staff to follow facility procedures, policies and assure we continue to provide excellent customer service to our partners. This is a Monday-Friday: 10:30AM-7:00PM position.

As a Supervisor, you are the overseer of all tasks that generate from your department. You must be able to motivate your team, evaluate their results and coach through deficiencies that may present themselves. You must project a professional company image through face to face, phone and email interaction. Through on-the-job training, you must be able to build an understanding of facility and department goals, and the interaction between your department with other departments, not only in the facility, but within the entire organization. You must have the communication and interpersonal skills necessary to build a strong team. We are seeking candidates who are self-motivated, driven to succeed, and enthusiastic about learning and growing with an industry leader.

Other requirements of the Supervisor role include:

  • Flexibility to work on various shifts, and departments, as required
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos

  • Full time position (40 hours a week), Overtime, Weekends, Holidays, as required

Direct Responsibilities:

  • Picking, packing, loading, and receiving inventory of computer products.
  • Assist in keeping a clean and safe work environment.


  • Be able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Possess excellent attention to detail.
  • Must have a minimum education level of Grade 12.
  • Prior warehouse experience preferred, but willing to train and educate.
  • Picking, shipping, receiving, and inventory control knowledge are a definite asset.
  • RF experience in a WMS environment preferred.
  • Certified Reach Truck operator. Training available.
  • Must be a team player and demonstrate solid behavioral traits.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexible with hours of work Monday to Friday and weekend work may, at times, be a necessity to support our customer service level agreements.
